As December 31st approaches, teenagers slowly begin turning their attention towards dresses and accessories for Spring formals and prom season. It seems that the major focus, regardless the style of the dress, is to be form fitting and show off all females curvaceous features. There are different dress styles which consist of traditional, voluminous ball gowns with skirts made of ruffles, pickups, and lace as well as sexy, leg-revealing high-low dresses with elegant trains to make a sultry statement. Excellent beading and sequin used as detail on dresses to emphasize the bust and neck lines and to make the waistline look slimmer.
This season’s gowns will give young women everywhere the idea that they are Barbie dolls stepping down the runway as they don their thigh-high splits, giving a boost of confidence, yet continuing that regal feeling. Lace has always been a favorite of prom goers, however this upcoming year, the lace will be utilized to make dresses lovable and gorgeous and after it is combined with beautiful pastels, the whole concept will feel “fresh”. Expect mindblowing designs from the lace in 2013. Taking some of the attention away from the floral world and dresses which had lots and lots of the shiny sequins, 2013 will have basic designs which will mostly be used to show off the shape. The whole “less is more” concept is what is being embraced by giving more of the person wearing the gown versus having the person wearing a gown that completely overshadows her whole personality and is more so over the top than anything else. A simplistic design will allow those females who enjoy the actual thought of the party to be able to step out on the floor and “shake their groove things” without having to worry about destroying their dress or having it in the way.
There will also be tan influx of short, cocktail length dresses as they represent the females who are cool, trendy, and the life of the party. There are more females taking on this role than there were in the past, so designers deemed it necessary to bring out designs geared to them. This cool image was also partially influenced by the office world, therefore making the “short skirt” design one of the most haves for the 2013 Prom Season. The last skirting trend which will be a must see in the 2013 season is multi colors. There will be animals prints, paintings and drawings – the idea of this concept is that it is cute and vintage to be in an eye-catching style.
Must have accessories for the 2013 season will include gems and rhinestones which are overly luxurious. All necklaces, earrings, bracelets, cuffs, rings, and hair pieces will all be dazzling! The ladies heels will include Swarovski crystal studs, and funky sequined high tops. As far as the make up is concerned, it is fairly obvious that 2013 will be full of females capable of doing their own make up and creating just the right look they want for themselves. Something definite that is going to be seen will be red and hot pink lips. Having makeup palettes available to match the various styles of dresses will help these ladies, as well as them already knowing what color hues are automatically going to work well with their skin, eye shade and shapes, and hairstyles. Moving on to the hair styles, these will reflect the style of dress the ladies choose. Up-dos will be wonderful for dresses with tons of detailing which need to be viewed. There will also be side swept hair styles worn for the dramatic effect. Simple dazzling clips will make wonderful additions for “sprucing up” up-do and side swept styles as well.
What are you wearing to Prom? It’s never too early to start thinking about what you will be wearing to Prom 2012. Your Prom will be one of your most memorable High School experiences, and Savvi Prom has all of the hottest styles to make sure you go in style.
For Prom 2012, bold colors will be the popular trend. While poofy, fairytale princess dresses are no longer the trend, popular styles will be long, sleek dresses in bold colors. Long dresses that are often called “mermaid” or dresses that go straight to the floor are what to wear this prom season. Some of these sleek dresses feature deep V-necks and halters. Wearing this sleek style shows sophistication.
For those who would rather bare their shoulders, strapless dresses are popular this year especially those with sweetheart neckline. Dress styles with slits, cutouts or low backs are great for ones who want to show a little skin. But don’t worry, if you are looking for a more wholesome dress, styles that are simple, plain, yet elegant floor-length gowns are in style too.
Another popular trend, are dresses with one-shoulder, embellished with rhinestones or rosettes. Long, flowy one-shoulder dresses resemble Greek goddesses. These goddess-like dresses are especially beautiful in pastel colors.
If you are looking for something that is more versatile, and can wear again, then a short dress is the best option for you. Still sleek, with sweetheart, halter or one-shoulder are still great popular necklines for short dresses.
What makes the perfect dress? A combination of a great style and the right “bold” color. Bold colors such as sapphire blue, watermelon, red, yellow or majestic purple, even white looks great especially for those with dark tanned skin. Bold colored floral patterns are also popular and fun!
Though this is What’s Hot for Prom 2012, still keep in mind your own personal style. There are many styles and color options that can work for anyone.
