Why Would You Choose to Be a Winter Bride?

There seems to be an endless list of reasons brides choose to have their weddings during summertime – but people often forget the possibilities that come with having a winter wedding.

Why would you do it? Why would you choose to be a winter bride? We have some tips for you – so read on and find out more.

·       The magic of winter. Evergreens can provide the perfect backdrop against which you can mix different textures with splashes of bright but less floral colors, including dark reds, purples, and cranberry.  Shooting photos in the snow, taking advantage of the playful twinkle lights of Christmas, feeling like a princess in an icy castle…There are so many natural beauties to complement your winter wedding that it would be a real pity not to consider the option at least.

·       The fashion. Winter wedding dress trends have their own charm – they’re elegant to the moon and back, they offer extra-comfort (especially from a thermic point of view), and they usually come accompanied by the most amazing covering options. This year’s all about capes, for example – and adding one to your wedding dress, no matter how simple, is bound to make you feel as if you have just stepped out of a fairytale.

·       The makeup colors. In love with bold lipsticks and brown smoky eyeshadow? They can work just fine during summertime too, but truth be told, this kind of makeup goes best with cooler days. Just imagine yourself walking down the aisle, rocking a purple shade of lipstick that complements your complexion and eyes – you’d feel downright amazing!

·       The prices. By the time winter kicks in, the “full” wedding season is already over. This means most venues and vendors aren’t as busy – so a lot of them might actually lower their prices, especially if you negotiate this with them. If you’re looking to save a good dollar on your vendors and venue, wintertime might actually be the best option for you. You might want to avoid the dates surrounding Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Eve (because they tend to be busier, and thus more expensive), but other than that, you should be able to save quite a lot of money – to spend on a designer wedding gown, of course!
