Things People Remembered Most About my Wedding

Brides spend a ton of time planning every single detail of their wedding. They spend time and money on everything they could possibly think of to make their special day stand out and be memorable to them, their partner, and their guests.

I did the exact same thing. I spent more than a year planning every little thing from save the dates to place settings, to wedding favors. I hoped every little thing would add to how memorable my wedding was to all my guests! People always comment on what they loved and remembered the most about your day and here are the things people thought were the most memorable about my wedding day.

1. The Venue!

The main thing people commented on was how beautiful and unique the wedding venue was! I got married at Castle McCulloch, in Jamestown NC. It is a beautiful historic venue with amazing structures and beautiful views. The room I had my event at is called the Crystal Garden BallRoom and it is a beautiful circular ballroom with beautiful windows and a gorgeous chandelier in the center.

2. The Centerpieces and Table Settings

The second things people commented on the most were the centerpieces and table settings. I chose to go with neutral linens to blend in more with space and create an elegant look. The centerpieces were tall vases with calla lilies and peacock feathers. I wanted to create a simple yet elegant look that didn’t overwhelm the already beautiful venue.

3. THE DRESS!

Of course one of the things that people looked at the most was my dress. They commented about it a lot, even while I was walking down the aisle. The dress and the whole look are supposed to be a reflection of the bride and her personality.it is only natural that it makes an impact on the guests and is arguably the most important piece of the puzzle.

4. The food, Desserts and Drinks!

The food, the desserts, and the drinks are very important because they are usually what people judge the most about weddings next to the venue. You want to provide a good experience to your guests and the food and drinks are one key piece of that. I had a great caterer and an amazing baker make my dessert table. We also had some specialty drinks named after us. Everything was absolutely delicious and people commented on how tasty everything was and how great the drinks were.

5. The Guestbook and Guest Favors

The guestbook is a great way for you to have a lasting reminder of your wedding and all the people who were there. Nowadays it is not just a book for some people but something a little more personalized. The guest favors are the main item that your guests get to take home to remember your wedding day and hopefully it’s something they’ll keep for a long time after. I got comments on how unique and fun our globe guest book was and how beautiful our peacock Christmas ornaments favors are.

6. The Bouquets and Boutineers

The bouquets and boutineers are really special because you get to incorporate your style into them and make them as unique as you want. I made the bouquets for my bridesmaids and myself as well as the boutineers for the groomsmen, my now husband and our fathers and I was able to do exactly what I wanted with them. I got a lot of compliments on them especially when people found out that I used wood flowers. They were so personal to me and I was so happy that people were commenting on how beautiful they turned out.
